The Literary Genius of the Isha Upanishad: Shloka 6 Pada 3
सर्वभूतेषु चात्मानं
Translation: The Self in all existences (Sri Aurobindo)
The Rishis loved the alankara called chiasmus or vyatikrama व्यतिक्रम
or padabandh viparyay पदबंध विपर्यय
When the sequence of a sentence is reversed and the two are balanced against each other we see the chiasmus. We see the chiasmus in the Veda and the Bhagavad Gita practiced often
All beings in the Self and the Self in all beings…this is a profound chiasmus.
The external and internal worlds are poised against each other in a link that breaks the sequence of logical thought and creates a new dynamic and equilibrium among things. It is as if you are reversing the sequence of mental processes and taking them back to their source

The Literary Genius of the Upanishads: Shloka 6 Pada 4
ततो न विजुगुप्सते
Translation: Shrinks not thereafter from anything at all (Sri Aurobindo)
This is called a litotes or अल्पोक्ति, न्यूनोक्ति or सनिषेध मंडनोक्ति
That is, you say the opposite to make an effect on the reader.
Instead of saying, he loves everything, the Rishi says this about the person who has realized the Self: he shrinks from nothing
This is a kind of vakrokti वक्रोक्ति
Why was it necessary to say things indirectly here? Removing a vikaara विकार is what a yogi does to restore balance. The Self is not seen because of our knots in consciousness. Shrinking or recoil is a block. Once the block is removed the Self is seen resplendent and glorious
But how do you show the glory that can’t be measured? Saying he loves all seems less relatable and precise than he hates nothing. An open state is created for the seeker with no limits. The Upanishad often describes the Isha by saying what the Isha is not. And this is a brilliant way to show us the ultimate Reality although direct descriptions too can be tried in their own place and context. Here the vakrokti seems more effective
